This morning I was eating my toast watching Sunrise (yeeah yeah i know … all morning TV is shizen anyway!) and they televised the press conference from the site of the latest mine disaster in NZ’s Pike River Coal Mine.  

After the police Superintendent spoke, the CEO of the mine addressed the media and read out the names and ages of the missing miners.  As the list was read out it was shocking to hear some of the miners were as young as 17.  But what made me a bit sick in the guts was that the list didn’t end!!!! I was watching in a daze, willing the list to stop….. it finally did after 29 names.

My thoughts are with the 2 Aussies and our NZ brothers and their families.

So far there has been no contact with the miners…..I hope this has a happy ending
